Narrating Through Poetry [No. 01]

A creation born of weariness

Exhausted

I cannot distinguish my body from my eyes

which is more tiring.

Now, I only crave restwholly.

And yet,I cannot let go.⠀

Days ago,

the resolve was firm—

to end the wait through motion.

The reality is that

even today,

only then did I truly take action.⠀

Words spill forth—

A jumble

of random light.⠀

To write—

I have carried this

for so long.

A secret vow—

To break the habit

of silent thought.⠀

And so—

I still find myself helpless,

tethered to a thousand trivial things

that snare my heart and mind.

To write—

When was I ever less than consumed?

I held on,

briefly.

But I—

already spent.

Soon—

the weariness.

I only crave rest

over this toil.⠀

The tedious toil—

Downright

soporific.

And so it was—

A swift defeat.

No more.

Perhaps today

is not for ink.

My eyes speak—

Only pain.

Urging me

to lay down my arms,

and surrender.

It was born of a computer—

No good solution, this.⠀

I began to weigh

the very shape of writing.

Back to the source.

The vicious wheel

turns again.

Before the stride—

Falling

into the same dust.
