I became aware of the existence of Bitcoin when I announced the sale of concert tickets. A foreigner contacted me, expressing interest in the tickets, but when I asked about payment methods and how we could meet since we were not in the same country, it became challenging. He suggested using PayPal for money transfer, but due to the local currency conversion laws and high fees involved, it was not feasible, as it would cost me 10-15% of the ticket price.
Considering other options like credit cards (I am just an individual, not a merchant), and international bank transfers, they also came with high fees and long processing times from the source country to my account. So, I proposed an alternative, asking him to transfer Bitcoin to me, and I would exchange it for cash with someone within that country. It seemed like the best and quickest solution I could think of, with the least cost and no fees when I choose to hold the BTC.
This experience made me understand the existence of Bitcoin better, as it reduces transaction time and offers much lower fees. People need to have such experiences to truly grasp the essence of Bitcoin, as it simplifies payment and cross-border exchanges, making it less cumbersome.
Thank you for reading until the end.
The best option for transactions that I have experienced and hope more people will adopt is Bitcoin.
