Ingredients

  • 2 (15 oz) cans white beans (cannellini or butter beans), drained but not rinsed
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven: Position rack in top third of oven and preheat broiler to high.
  2. Combine: In a 2 1/2-quart oven-safe baking dish or cast-iron skillet, combine drained beans and marinara sauce.
  3. Top with cheese: Spread mozzarella cheese evenly over the bean mixture.
  4. Broil: Place under broiler for 2-4 minutes, or until cheese is melted and golden brown in spots.
  5. Serve: Remove from oven and serve hot with crusty bread, garlic bread, or over toast.
