Amazon is and has always been an office centric culture. Ideas move too fast for people to work apart from each other all week long. It's fine if your team is only 2 or 3 people.. but teams at Amazon are groups of 7-10 devs who collaborate across teams, managers, customers, and engineers and the speed at which the teams move is nothing like I have seen in any other job or any other workplace.
Thinking you can do this job 100% does Amazon and yourself a disservice.
