Achilles expected swords, yet he was struck by an arrow. Troy raised mighty walls, yet it fell because it trusted. The devil lives in what is overlooked. No matter how many skins a viper sheds, do not believe you are bringing home the creature it promised to become.
See things as they truly are. Intelligence is recognizing what people do not say. Wisdom is anticipating the worst they have already done. And when they tell you, "It won't happen again," believe them—for the next time, the damage will be irreversible.
