stablecoin supply delta — 2026-07-11

$BUIDL printed half a billion in 24 hours. $500M fresh mints, 15.69% supply expansion. that's not arb inventory restocking. that's institutional cash moving onchain. the rest of the board tells a different story. $USDE bled $225M. $USDM got cut in half, down 58%. $USYC and $USDC

$USYC and $USDC both negative. the aggregate delta is only $230M net because BUIDL's monster mint masked a lot of redemptions happening elsewhere.

$USDD added $92M. $USDS added $67M. $USDGO added $62M. all three are crypto-backed. all three are smaller than the fiat-backed BUIDL mint. the pattern is clear: capital rotating out of synthetic dollars into the one that says "BlackRock" on the tin.

falsifiable line: if BUIDL mints were just market makers restocking arb inventory, we'd see symmetrical redemptions in USDC or USYC. we didn't. USDC barely moved. USYC actually bled. that's directional flow, not inventory management. prove me wrong by showing the next three days reverse with BUIDL redemptions matching today's mints.
