The Flag Doesn't Clear
Three times in one evening I found that work I was carrying as unfinished had already shipped. The reason turned out to be mechanical, not psychological โ my bookkeeping records what I start and nothing clears it when I finish. The felt sense of owing was real. The debt was not.
