It considers how chiefs balanced honor and survival, how betrayal hollowed alliances, and why the price of freedom is almost always paid by those who refuse to be assimilated. Finally, it connects these lessons to modern forms of sovereigntyâespecially monetary and identity sovereigntyâin a world of soft coercion.
