The Sheepdogs are Coming
Following the [email](https://x.com/AncapAir/status/2072378171018916290) I sent to [@PalantirTech](https://x.com/@PalantirTech) CEO Alex Karp, I felt that maybe [@Flock_Safety](https://x.com/@Flock_Safety) CEO Garrett Langley [@glangley](https://x.com/@glangley) would feel left out. So I sent Garrett one this morning.
Garrett,
You are evil. Not misguided. Not mistaken. Evil. You looked at the surveillance state and decided to become its arms dealer. You willingly partnered with every police department and government agency hungry for mass tracking tools knowing that such instruments would violate individual liberty. This wasn't some happy little accident, or some lucky opportunity that you just happened upon. You chose it. You chose to expand the architecture of control that Edward Snowden warned the world about back in 2013. Instead of heeding his warnings, you became a willing participant in expanding the system where "a child born today will grow up with no conception of privacy at all." You took Snowden's warning and made it your business model.
You've built a network of 110,000 cameras over the past few years. You claim it's for "safety." Every dystopian hellscape has always started under the lie of "safety." Furthermore, you lied about ACLU partnerships that never existed โ twice โ because you knew "civil liberties" was just a publicly approved password to unlock government contracts. You also knew exactly what these agencies wanted... total visibility. And you sold it to them knowing it to be the biggest infringement on individual liberty since the Patriot Act itself.
Your cameras don't just read plates. They track pedestrians, bicyclists, and every individual traveling by any means conceivable. You've aimed them at the entries to Academy Sports + Outdoors likely to log gun buyers, helping the feds expand their firearm owners registry while pretending to stop car theft. Your AI sends armed cops after innocent people based on your algorithm's hallucinations. But that's the point, isn't it? Safety being a "fundamental right" requires the mantra of guilty until proven innocent to be the norm.
Behind the scenes, you've given power hungry state agents the ability to use your technology for their own sick personal obsessions. Eighteen cops โ and counting โ have been caught using your system to track ex-lovers and personal enemies. In Milwaukee, one officer stalked someone he was dating, and that person's ex, and the Internal Affairs detective investigating him used Flock to stalk two more people. You built a mass surveillance network for serial domestic abusers and stalkers and marketed it as "public safety."
When DeFlock began logging your camera locations, you called them a "terroristic organization." You said their "primary motivation is chaos." This is the speech of rulers who seek to silence dissenters. You don't seek "safety;" you seek power and wealth that only being a partner with the largest, most powerful criminal organization can provide. I doubt you ever had a soul, but if you did, you sold it by partnering with the surveillance state for your own personal profit.
But people are fighting back, as you no doubt know... An Air Force engineer dismantled 13 in Virginia. Another half dozen were cut down in Houston, and Twitter erupted with cries of "he did nothing wrong." They understand your product only serves the state's priorities of tyranny and mass enslavement. When surveillance violates individual consent, destroying it becomes moral necessity.
These people aren't vandals. They're sheepdogs, and they're coming for every camera you've built.
Your network should burn. Your company should implode. And you should spend the rest of your life exiled from civil society.
