Free Palestine 🇵🇸 — a poem
I believe in a land where<br/>
there is no hurt nor pain,<br/>
nor blood nor bombs,<br/>
nor [Polio](https://www.democracynow.org/2024/8/19/headlines/first_case_of_polio_identified_in_gaza_in_10_month_old_baby);<br/>
where freedom reigns,<br/>
restrains *ẓulm*1;<br/>
where the sky is not filled with mass destruction,<br/>
nor the newspapers with mass deception,<br/>
nor the governments with mass corruption,<br/>
nor the graveyards filled with martyrs —<br/>
awaiting resurrection.<br/>
It's a place where *taḥrīr*2 and *ḥurrīyah*3 dance together,<br/>
and the sound of liberty rings more than sirens' wailing,<br/>
childrens',<br/>
mothers',<br/>
men's,<br/>
and corpses'.<br/>
Free, free Palestine,<br/>
from Her river to the sea,<br/>
free, free Palestine,<br/>
and let Her children run free,<br/>
and let it be known to the world, in all its cruelty,<br/>
that Ġazzah bled in this lowest *dunyah*4,<br/>
to ascend to the highest ranks of *Al-ākhirah*5.<br/>
p.s. dear people of Palestine, dead or alive, you have let our hearts glimpse just a crack of the light beyond the covers of *ġaflah*6 that ensnare us. A thousand thanks, and I ask God Almighty to forgive me for falling short in what I could not do to help my brothers and sisters in Palestine.
