Food: More Than Just a Meal

Food is something we all need every day, but it is more than just a way to satisfy our hunger. It brings people together, creates memories, and reflects the culture and traditions of different communities. Whether it's a simple home-cooked meal or a favorite street food, every dish has a story behind it and someone who prepared it with time, effort, and care. My love for food began when I was a child. My mom owned a small carinderia, and I was only in kindergarten at the time. I still remember going to the public market with her to buy fresh ingredients. Back home, I would watch her wash the vegetables, prepare the seasonings, chop the ingredients, and cook every dish with patience and care. One lesson she taught me has stayed with me ever since. She would always say, "If you're going to cook, do it properly because you'll be eating it too." At the time, I didn't fully understand what she meant, but as I grew older, I realized she wasn't just talking about food. She was teaching me to take pride in whatever I do and to always give my best. I also spent time helping at our carinderia. Whenever a customer arrived, I would call my mom, but most of the time I was the one washing plates. Even though I was still young, I enjoyed being part of our small family business. One thing I will never forget was the smell of our home whenever my mom started cooking. Even something as simple as sautéing garlic and onions would fill the whole house with such a delicious aroma that made everyone excited for the meal she was preparing. What I loved most was hearing customers say, "Aling Baby, your cooking is always so delicious." Every time I heard those words, I felt proud of my mom. It always made me smile because I knew how hard she worked every single day—not just to earn a living, but to serve food that people genuinely enjoyed. Seeing customers come back again and again because of her cooking made me realize that good food is more than just great taste. It carries love, hard work, and care, and people can truly feel that in every meal. As I grew older and started cooking on my own, I realized that not everyone would like every dish I prepared—and that's perfectly okay. We all have different taste preferences. Just because someone doesn't enjoy your cooking doesn't mean it tastes bad. In many ways, food is like life. We all have different opinions, perspectives, and experiences. We won't always agree with one another, but that doesn't mean one person is right and the other is wrong. Learning to respect those differences is just as important as learning to cook. Looking back, I realize that my mom's carinderia taught me more than just recipes. It taught me patience, hard work, humility, and the importance of doing things with love and care. Food is more than just a meal—it tells stories, brings people together, and leaves memories that can stay with us for a lifetime.

How BCHNostr Became Part of My Daily Routine as a Mom

Being a mom of three beautiful daughters is truly a fulltime job. My day starts as early as 3:00 in the morning as I prepare their meals and get them ready for school. Once they leave, my responsibilities continue. I go to the market to buy ingredients for our lunch and dinner, clean the house, do the laundry, and make sure everything at home is in order. With all these daily responsibilities, finding time for myself is not always easy. A few months ago, I discovered BCHNostr. At first, I was simply curious about the platform and wanted to learn more about Bitcoin Cash. What I didn't expect was that it would eventually become part of my daily routine and give me something enjoyable to look forward to, even on my busiest days. At that time, I was looking for an online side hustle. I had been searching for quite a while, but unfortunately, many of the opportunities I found turned out to be scams. One day, I came across a post by Chucha inviting people who were looking for extra income to join a group chat. Since I was still searching for a legitimate opportunity, I decided to join. To be honest, I was hesitant at first. I wasn't sure if it was real or if it would be worth my time. However, I kept seeing posts from community members sharing their payouts and rewards. Some of the amounts were surprisingly good, and I thought to myself, Why not give it a try?" The first person who sent me a zap was Chucha. I was genuinely happy and excited. That simple gesture encouraged me to become more active on the platform. I started posting more, engaging with other users, and participating in activities. Then one morning, after waking up and checking my account, I was surprised to see that I had received a $5 zap from PrimeArchitect. I couldn't believe it. It may seem like a small amount to some people, but for me, it was a memorable moment that motivated me even more. As time went by, I joined different BCHNostr communities and participated in various activities. Not only did I enjoy the fun and learning experience, but I also met supportive and encouraging people. Within just one week, I was able to earn $10. That became my very first cash out from BCHNostr, and I used it to help provide baon for my three daughters for an entire week. As a mother, that made me incredibly happy because even a small amount can make a difference for my family. One of my favorite things about BCHNostr is exploring different communities. Honestly, almost all of them are enjoyable, but I especially like Santa's Fun, Reward and Growth community. It keeps members excited because you never know when a surprise zap drop will happen. Sometimes I manage to catch one, but most of the time I miss it. 😂 Even so, the excitement makes it fun to check the platform regularly. I also enjoy participating in Animalandia activities hosted by Kunichiwa. Guessing animal sounds can be surprisingly challenging and sometimes drives me crazy in a fun way. 😂 Another community I admire is Purple Heart because of the creativity behind its activities. The organizers always come up with unique ideas that keep members engaged, entertained, and eager to participate. BCHNostr has taught me many things. Aside from jokingly waking up at 1:00 AM just to catch zap drops, it has helped me learn how to interact with different people from different places. Even though most of us have never met in person, the BCH community often feels like a family. The kindness, support, and encouragement from other members make the platform feel warm and welcoming. Looking back, BCHNostr has helped me step out of my comfort zone. Before joining, I was not the type of person who actively interacted online. I was usually quiet and preferred to stay in the background. Today, I feel more confident sharing my thoughts, joining activities, and connecting with others. It has become easier for me to engage with people and build friendships through the community. Although I originally joined BCHNostr in search of an online side hustle, I gained something much more valuable. I found a supportive community, meaningful friendships, opportunities to learn new things, and a place where I can express myself freely. For a busy mom like me, BCHNostr has become more than just a platform—it has become a meaningful part of my everyday life and one of my favorite ways to relax after a long day. I am grateful for all the experiences, lessons, friendships, and opportunities that BCHNostr has given me. As I continue my journey on the platform, I look forward to learning more, meeting more people, and creating more wonderful memories with the community.

Cryptocurrency - My BCHNostr Journey: Two Lessons I'll Never Forget

When I first joined BCHNostr, I was excited to explore a platform where social networking and Bitcoin Cash come together. Every day, I discovered something new—whether it was creating posts, joining conversations, receiving tips, or learning about the different features that BCHNostr offers. As I became more active, I realized that BCHNostr is more than just a social platform. It's a community where people can share ideas, support one another, create content, raise funds through crowdfunding, and even publish blogs. Most importantly, it teaches users how to take responsibility for their own digital assets. My journey wasn't always smooth. In fact, two experiences taught me lessons that I will never forget. Lesson 1: Never Share Your Nsec One day, I received a private message from someone claiming that active BCHNostr users could receive rewards. The message included a link, and without thinking twice, I opened it and entered my nsec. Only later did I realize that it was a phishing scam. My account was compromised, and I had no choice but to create a new BCHNostr account. I felt disappointed because I had trusted the wrong link, but instead of giving up, I treated it as a valuable lesson. From that day on, I promised myself never to enter my nsec on any website or link. Your nsec is like the master key to your account. Once someone gets it, they can take control of your account. Lesson 2: Always Back Up Your Wallet After creating my new account, I experienced another problem. BCHNostr suddenly became difficult to access. The page stopped loading properly, and sometimes the screen remained black. Thinking it would solve the issue, I cleared my browser's cache and site data. When I logged back in, I was shocked. My wallet balance showed zero. I immediately posted about the problem and asked the community for help. Experienced users explained that clearing the browser's data also removed my locally stored wallet information. They advised me to restore my wallet using my Wallet Import Format (WIF) or private key. That's when I realized another mistake—I had never saved my wallet's WIF. Although my Bitcoin Cash wasn't gone from the blockchain, I couldn't restore access to my wallet because I didn't have the backup. That experience taught me the importance of backing up my wallet as soon as it is created. Now, one of the first things I tell new BCHNostr users is to securely save their WIF before doing anything else. What BCHNostr Has Taught Me Despite those setbacks, I don't regret joining BCHNostr. Every mistake became a lesson, and every lesson made me a more careful cryptocurrency user. Today, I enjoy helping new users understand the platform, organizing community activities, and sharing what I've learned from my own experiences. If there's one thing I'd like every newcomer to remember, it's this: Never share your nsec with anyone, and always keep a secure backup of your wallet's WIF. These two simple habits can save you from losing access to your account and wallet. My BCHNostr journey is still continuing. There will always be new features to explore and new things to learn, but thanks to these experiences, I now move forward with greater knowledge, confidence, and appreciation for the importance of cryptocurrency security.

Arabic Qahwa - More Than a Drink.

Each area ,tribe , nation or country has its own culture, traditional values and rituals which are identical symbols for them. Exactly same arab territory which has around 14 countries has some unique traditions, cultural appropriation and living styles. Lot of things are common in these countries in which there hostess capacity is remarkable.I spend around 8 years in gulf countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain. I observe the arab culture, food and traditions closely and found them with strong hospitality, valued cultural roots and unique food passion. One of the favorite drink they proud to serve their guest is Qahwa  ( Arabic coffee) which they prepare with unique blend of ingredients and method. Let's move and I will try to show you this drink as I observe. Arabic Coffee or Qahwa is traditional trade mark of Arab people. It is not only a drink for them , it is a source of sitting together, communication, sharing the things like stories, listing the gossips like news and melt the giggles Qahwa has rich history which touches a story of a shepherd Kamel. Kamel is the known person who invented Qahwa in 16th century in Yemen. Some historians took it to Ethiopian hills which is not authentic. Kamel brings some beans of coffee tree for his chest infection which surprisingly gives him some relief. So for long time coffee or Qahwa remains a remedy for cold infections. Then literally as world expand, population grow and lifestyle changes by oil production, The Qahwa gets deeper roots in Arab society and become a symbol of hospitality. **Traditional iconic symbol.** In 19th century the coffee reach in central Arab countries through traders and slowly becomes symbol of Arabs life. A symbol of hostess and pride, a symbol of happiness and gesture, a symbol of open hearting and welcoming. **Settlement in Ritual.** Lot of things becoming the part of our life by time passing and Qahwa is part of Arab sitting rooms, bars , rest areas, restaurants and stadiums. Everyone is fan of it and they feel proud to serve any guest by Qahwa **Preparation**. The fresh grind of coffee beans and use instantly for Qahwa gives best taste. It has three kinds like brown, black and Yemeni ( reddish). It's preparation is so simple. Boil the water , add ground beans and crushed cardamom and let it Cook on medium heat. When one fourth of water soaked add saffron, cinnamon and rosewater and boil it further till the original water remains half. Blend of taste ready to sip and serve. **Physical Stimulation**. It is proved clinically that coffee stimulates the energy, reduce the fats and enhance the mental capability. It stimulates the metabolism and keeps blood flow circulation in normal. So Qahwa not only the symbol of tradition , it is source of vitality and health too. **Presentation**. Arab people never serve the Qahwa alone to the guests nor drink themselves. Also never serve them directly in cups.Normally by tradition they present it in long flask bottle which is they called "Dallah". Always keep small tiny cups to pour. According to their mentality, they feel more happiness to serve their guest again and again. Then sweet like buqlawa, khubz also comes along. The most favourite item on tray always Dates. Fresh Dates or processed ones both must get beauty of the trays. Not only for guests, they drink coffee or Qahwa themselves too more then any beverage. That's all for today. Digital literacy is one of those formal-sounding, academic-sounding terms, the kind of phrase you might expect to read on a school curriculum or at a government seminar. But for many of us, especially here in the Philippines, digital literacy did not start in a classroom. It began from a much more modest place: a tiny, cramped pisonet shop with a row of secondhand computers, keyboards marinated in stickiness, and the familiar hum of dial-up, or prepaid internet that expired every hour. And that’s where I started my own journey of online literacy too, back in elementary school. **My First Computer Was Not Mine** Growing up I didn’t have a computer at home. Like most kids of my generation, my first real exposure to computers, the internet and eventually social media was in a pisonet shop. You'd put in a coin, get a set amount of time, and try to squeeze as much out of it as possible before your screen locked you out and demanded another coin. When I was that age I didn't know what I was doing. I was just a kid clicking around wondering what this glowing screen could do. But looking back, those hours in the pisonet shop were my first real lessons in internet literacy, how to navigate a browser, how to type faster, how to explore social platforms, how to problem-solve when something didn’t load right, and eventually, how to actually create something online instead of just consuming it. **Digital Literacy Isn't Just Knowing How to Use a Device** And many people think that online literacy is only knowing how to scroll through an app or use a smartphone. But true online literacy is more than that. It’s about knowing how to navigate the internet safely, how to critically evaluate information, how to protect your identity and data, and eventually, how to use digital resources to actually build something, whether that’s a skill, an income, or a community. That pisonet shop experience opened up to something bigger for me. What was initially a curiosity about computers became a real career – working online, managing social media for real businesses, learning platforms, content and eventually exploring decentralized spaces like BCHNostr. And the rest, as they say, is history. **Why This Matters for the Next Generation** Not every kid today grows up with a laptop or a stable home internet connection. A lot of them are still discovering computers and the internet the same way I did, through shared spaces, borrowed devices, or public access points. That's exactly why digital literacy needs to be something we actively teach and encourage, not something we assume everyone already has equal access to. Being digitally literate today isn't just a nice skill to have, it's practically a requirement. Whether it's for school, for work, for starting an online business, or even for participating in spaces like BCHNostr where owning your identity and understanding how platforms work actually matters, digital literacy is the foundation everything else is built on. **From a Pisonet Shop to Where I Am Now** If you told a younger version of me, sitting in a pisonet shop, racing against a coin-operated timer, that all of that curiosity would eventually turn into a career and a place in communities like this one, I probably wouldn't have believed it. But that's the thing about digital literacy: it doesn't matter where you start. What matters is that you keep learning, keep exploring, and keep applying what you learn. If you're someone who's just starting to explore the digital world, whether it's social media, content creation, or even something new like decentralized platforms and cryptocurrency, don't underestimate where you're starting from. Some of us started with borrowed time on a secondhand computer in a small shop, and we're still here, still learning, still growing. Digital literacy isn't about where you begin.
