Damus is the first native iOS Nostr client, written in Swift and published on the App Store under GPL-3.0, that lets iPhone and iPad users generate or import a 12-word key and immediately post, reply, react, and zap sats over Lightning without creating an account or sharing personal data. The app renders kind-1 notes, long-form articles (kind-30023), live activities, and zap streams through a clean timeline that supports relays, hashtags, mute lists, and NIP-05 verifications. Built-in Lightning tipping uses webln/lnurl-pay and can connect to self-hosted LND, Core-Lightning, or custodial wallets; keys stay in the iOS Secure Enclave, encrypted by device passcode and optional PIN. Features include offline draft saving, media gallery caching, Tor support, and end-to-end encrypted gift-wrap DMs. Source code and reproducible build instructions are maintained on [GitHub](https://github.com/damus-io/damus); push notifications are handled serverlessly via NIP-07 event requests, ensuring Apple never sees note content.
