My Bitcoin journey
The Russian government’s actions in 1991, which devalued his grandmother’s hard-earned savings, deeply impacted the author and sparked his distrust of centralized systems. In 2014, he discovered Bitcoin, diving into its principles of decentralization and its potential to empower individuals. His journey included contributing to the BitNovosti journal, meeting key figures like Vitalik Buterin and Wences Casares, and immersing himself in the crypto space during its early, idealistic days.
Despite setbacks like the 2017 shift towards speculative tokens and failures in projects like Digital Nomad Country Club, his vision remained clear: creating a Bitcoin-native financial system to give people control over their money and foster peer-to-peer connections. Inspired by the Nostr project in 2025, he is now fully dedicated to building a solution aligned with these values.
